Integrative Medicine

Integrative Medicine for Mental Health or Functional Medicine is a rapidly growing treatment practice that supports a whole body approach to mental health disorders using multiple fields of medicine and nutritional sciences. It seeks to identify and address the root causes of disease, and views the body as an integrated system, not a collection of independent organs divided up by medical specialties. It treats the whole system, not just the symptoms.

Patients regain mental wellness through the use of individualised metabolic testing, nutritional therapies, and dietary interventions. Highly purified natural products are used in combination with prescription medications and psychotherapy to treat a number of mental health conditions

Relevant laboratory analysis is used to evaluate and treat underlying biomedical issues which may include nutritional deficiencies, food allergies, infections, toxicities, and genetic disorders. By focusing on an individual’s unique genetic, biochemical, and nutritional status, customised treatment plans can be implemented to provide better wellness outcomes.

Our Integrative GP is available on Wednesdays for consultations. Areas of interest are in brain biochemistry affecting children’s behaviour and mental health of adults and children (anxiety, depression) with experience in ADHD, thyroid and hormonal imbalance, infertility and gut dysbiosis.
